About
William Baker, D.O., is a Las Cruces native who followed his father, Lory Baker, D.O., into medicine, to care for generations of Las Cruces families. Dr. Baker is active in the community and has served as the team physician for New Mexico State University since 1990. He has held the position of chief of staff at MountainView Regional Medical Center as well as Memorial Medical Center. He served as the medical director of Mesilla Valley Hospice for 28 years.
Dr. Baker is a passionate advocate for Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he serves on the board of directors and is a regional assistant dean. He is chairman of the board for the Coalition of Osteopathic Excellence, which raises funds for students attending Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In his free time, Dr. Baker likes to compete in cowboy action shooting. In 2022, he was ranked #4 in the world for his category. Dr. Baker played football for Mayfield High School in the first rivalry game with Las Cruces High School. He also enjoys playing golf and riding horses.
